Installation method of spindle bearings for machine tools
The installation of machine tool spindle bearings mainly includes the following methods and precautions:
1、 Installation method
1. Press when installation :
(1) When the inner ring of the bearing is tightly matched with the main shaft and the outer ring is loosely matched with the bearing seat hole, a press machine can be used to press the bearing onto the main shaft first, and then install the shaft and bearing together into the bearing seat hole. When press fitting, a soft metal sleeve should be placed on the inner ring end face of the bearing to prevent it from being pressed onto the cage.
(2) When the outer ring of the bearing is tightly matched with the bearing seat hole and the inner ring is loosely matched with the shaft, the bearing can be pressed into the bearing seat hole first, and the outer diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the seat hole.
2. Heating method:
(1) For bearings with large interference fit, the heating fitting method can be used for installation. Heat the bearing and bearing seat to 80~100 degrees Celsius, use the principle of thermal expansion to transform the tight fit into a loose fit, and then quickly install the bearing onto the shaft. Wait for the bearing to cool to room temperature.
(2) Before heating, the bearing should be evenly heated in the oil tank, with a temperature not exceeding 100 degrees. After removal, it should be installed on the shaft as soon as possible to ensure the accuracy of the fit
2、 Installation precautions
1. Correct alignment and installation:
During installation, ensure the correct alignment of the bearings with the shaft and bearing seat, and use specialized tools to push the bearings to the predetermined position. If necessary, a soft metal assembly sleeve can be placed on the inner ring end face of the bearing to protect it.
2. Adjust the gap:
According to the type and size of the bearing, the clearance can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the bearing seat, adding or removing shims to ensure the normal operation of the bearing and reduce vibration.
3. Fixation and Inspection:
When fixing the bearing to the bearing seat with nuts and bolts, attention should be paid to moderate torque, neither too tight nor too loose.
After installation, it is necessary to check the operation of the bearings to ensure that they rotate flexibly, without any abnormal sounds or vibrations. If there are any problems, the operation should be stopped in a timely manner and checked and adjusted.
4. Avoid improper operation:
During the installation process, improper tools and operating methods should be avoided to prevent bearing damage. Methods such as using copper bars to strike can easily cause uneven axial force on the bearing, deformation of the cage, and damage to the rolling elements.
